The COVID-19 Preventative Emergency Response project, funded by the Lincolnshire Community Foundation, ran from Nov 2020 to May 2021. The project involved the creation and promotion of student-friendly peer-to-peer content relating to COVID-19 designed to encourage students and young people in Lincolnshire to adhere to guidelines and rules and ultimately reduce the spread of the virus during the height of the pandemic.
It was a collaborative project, run jointly by the Digital Student Experience team and New Media Lincs, a social enterprise run in partnership with the Lincoln School of Film and Media and overseen by a steering group including academics and representatives from the Students Union. The Lincoln Higher Education Research Institute also helped steer student-led research into student behaviour and attitudes towards COVID-19 and government restrictions.
Students were at the core of the project, contributing ideas, creating content and carrying out research in partnership with academics, professional service staff and representatives from the Students’ Union.
